Empowering Small Poultry Farmers: Poultry People’s Tireless Efforts

October Issue of Poultry Creations Magazine brings you a fresh edition filled with illuminating insights from the world of poultry. We extend our sincere gratitude to our dedicated readers and the Poultry Federation of India for their unwavering support, making the launch of our magazine a resounding success.

The recently concluded 34th AGM, held at Hotel Alila Diwa by Hyatt in Goa on Sept. 27-28, 2023, stands as a testament to the industry’s vitality. More than 600 delegates from India and abroad witnessed the launch of Poultry Creation Magazine. The credit goes to all Executive Committee Members of PFI for orchestrating this triumph.

During the AGM, Mr. Ranpal Dhanda, President, PFI, highlighted critical issues faced by small poultry farmers, sparking a constructive dialogue with Dr. Sanjeev Balyan Ji, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, GoI, and Dr. O.P. Choudhary Ji, Joint Secretary (DAHD, MoFAH&D, GoI). Their assurances of continuous support reaffirm their commitment to the poultry sector.

The Broiler Breeder’s Associations-North (BBAN) and North India Broiler Producer Association (NIBPA) deserve commendation for their relentless efforts towards advancing the poultry business. A sign of relief was breathed by layer farmers with the recent increase in table egg prices, a development that brings optimism to the poultry sector. Amidst fluctuations in broiler prices, the industry stands united, demonstrating its resilience and commitment to collective progress.

The 38th Indian Poultry Science Association Conference (IPSACON), held at SKUAST Srinagar from Sept. 13th to 15th, 2023, was a comprehensive platform for poultry knowledge exchange. It covered genetics, nutrition, health, and more, fostering discussions among professionals.

Additionally, two other prominent associations successfully held their AGMs recently. The 12th AGM of INFAH in Mumbai on September 23, 2023, and the 5th Annual General Meeting of Vets In Poultry (VIP) Association, which took place on September 30, 2023, in Nashik, signify the proactive engagement of stakeholders in shaping the future of the poultry industry.

De Heus Animal Nutrition hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on October 1, 2023, in Rajpura, Punjab. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann graced the event as the chief guest, welcoming De Heus for their substantial investment in Punjab’s agriculture and livestock sector. The gathering included around 2,000 attendees, comprising poultry, dairy, and pig farmers.

During festivals like Shraddh and Durga Navaratri, which lead to reduced poultry consumption, the Broiler Breeder’s Association-North has taken a proactive step by introducing a hatching holiday to maintain stability. As we look to future festivals with potential decreases in poultry consumption, it may be necessary to consider additional measures for price stability within the industry.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone for their well-wishes and unwavering support for Poultry Creations Magazine. Your encouragement inspires us to continue delivering valuable insights, expert opinions, and the latest industry developments.
